ASIAN TOURISTS FLOCKING BACK TO CANADA

Asian tourists are coming back to Canada, according to the Canadian Tourism Commission. People arriving to Canada from Japan, Australia and Taiwan increased in November 1998, with Taiwan posting the largest gain of almost 12%. The CTC says the possible factors contributing to the increase is a stabilizing of local currencies and strong Canadian marketing campaigns. The CTC launched campaigns last fall in Australia and Japan. Advertising for the CTC is handled by Vickers & Benson Advertising of Toronto. V&B also used agencies in the respective countries to assist with the campaigns.
