Mike Forrester has been appointed director of business development for Holmes Creative Communications. Forrester comes from his own firm, Forrester & Associates, a marketing and sponsorship firm specializing in the entertainment and attractions sector.

Compaq Canada marketing director John Boyle will resign from the position effective Jan. 27. For the interim, consumer sales and marketing director Ralph Hyatt will replace Boyle. Compaq of Richmond Hill, Ont. expects to have a new marketing director in place by March. Pauline Harper has moved from Communiqué of Toronto, where she was account director, to the same position at the Wolf Group of Toronto. Her account responsibilities will include Air Ontario, Arrow Shirts, Guardian Mutual Funds and the Toronto Argonauts. Leon Berger has been named chairman of a new product advisory council for Marketel. As chair of the council Berger will be responsible for the entire Marketel product. Prior to joining Marketel, Berger was in charge of creative for the Asian region for Denstu Young & Rubicam in Singapore before taking time off to write a novel.
