Toronto-based Rogers Media has ended its three-year licensing agreement with U.S.-based Yahoo! to operate its Internet service in Canada. In addition, Rogers is expanding its Internet operations. In March, it will launch its home shopping Internet site called The Shopping Channel.com, and will expand into different market segments, offering Web sites on financial services, business-to-business e-commerce and online business research. Other Rogers sites include quicken.ca, bid.com, Electric Library Canada and @Home Canada, a broadband portal owned by Rogers, Shaw Communications of Calgary and Cogeco Cable of Montreal. In conjunction with Maclean Hunter Publishing, Rogers also operates a number of sites for Maclean magazines including Chatelaine, Macleans, Canadian Business and Profit.
