THREE COMPANIES FORM IT FIRM

Minerva Technology of Alberta, NewTel Information Solutions and Paragon Information Systems, both of St. John's Newfoundland, have merged to create an information technology company. Called xwave solutions, the company will be based in St. John's and will specialize in IT consulting, systems integration, enterprise management and value-added reselling. The company also has a business partnership with MT&T in Nova Scotia. Xwave will mainly promote itself through trade ads, which it will create in-house. The company's logo and initial ads were handled by Brandworks International of Toronto. Xwave is a subsidiary of NewTel Enterprises, which owns 74% of the company. MT&T owns 20% and Andersen Consulting owns 6%. Xwave will also have offices in Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax and Dallas.
