ZELLERS INTRODUCES HEALTH INSURANCE
By Adnews Staff
Zellers Canada Inc. of Brampton, Ont. moved into the health insurance business this week. The national retailer launched a health insurance plan in the pharmacy department of its stores across English Canada. Called the Zellers Pharmacy Health Plan, the insurance will cover up to 80% of various expenses depending on what plan is purchased. Coverage includes prescriptions, dental treatment, vision care, nursing care, alternative health care, medical equipment, supplies and hearing aids. For emergencies involving hospital stays, 100% of ambulance charges and out-of-country medical expenses will be covered. The Zellers Pharmacy Health Plan is being promoted using radio and newspaper ads, as well as point-of-purchase materials. The campaign was created in-house, with the help of Pent of Toronto.
