NINTENDO GIVES GAME BOY SOME COLOR

Japan-based Nintendo Corp. is putting color into the lives of Game Boy enthusiasts. The company launched Game Boy Color in North America this week, allowing gamers to play color video games. The technology will simultaneously display 10, 32 or 56 colors of the player's choosing from a palette of 32,000. In addition, three new game titles were introduced this week for Game Boy Color and two more will be available next month. They are: Tetris DX, Pocket Bomberman, Game and Watch Gallery 2, Quest For Camelot and The Legend of Zelda. In addition, there will be up to 20 Game Boy Color-compatible game titles available next month and Game Boy Color will play the more than 486 games that can be played with the original Game Boy. Game Boy Color will be promoted using TV and print ads created by Leo Burnett Co. of Toronto. The GCI Group of Toronto is handling PR.
