International Menu Solutions of Kitchener, Ont. will begin selling its Italian fresh and frozen entrees in Silcorp stores in the Toronto area next month. Initially, the products will be tested in about 20 stores, but International Menu Solutions hopes to roll out the entrees in Silcorp stores across Canada by the end of the first quarter of 1999. Silcorp operates stores such as Becker's and Mac's. International Menu Solutions already sells its 26 fresh and frozen entrees in such stores as Oshawa Foods, Sobeys, Safeway and A&P, as well as in several U.S. supermarket chains.
Last month, International Menu Solutions enhanced its product portfolio by buying Pasta Kitchens of Toronto. President Michael Steele told Adnews yesterday that the company is also acquiring two companies this week. Once the company has expanded its product line up with the acquisitions, it plans to promote them through advertising beginning sometime next year. Until now, the company has not done any advertising. Advertising will be handled in-house. International Menu Solutions was established in November 1997.
