CHAPTERS SHOWS ITS NOT JUST ABOUT BOOKS

Toronto-based Chapters Inc. opened its first Toronto Hear Music @ Chapters department this week. Hear Music @ Chapters features more than 60 listening stations, each equipped with a common theme. At the listening bar, customers can listen to any CD that Chapters carries. Mainstream and the top 40 are part of the selection, but the department focuses on jazz, blues, folk, classical and world music. Hear Music @ Chapters is being promoted using newspaper ads created by Taxi Advertising & Design of Toronto. In addition, Chapters is hosting live music events at the store featuring such artists as Melanie Doane, John Rouse, Jesse Cook, Colin James and The Mediaeval Babes. This is the ninth Hear Music @ Chapters to begin operating. Others are located in London and Thornhill, both in Ontario, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
