ROYAL BANK TO RAISE MONEY TO SAVE WILD LIFE

The Royal Bank of Canada has teamed up with the World Wildlife Fund to launch a new line of Visa credit cards and raise money for the WWF. The new cards available beginning this week are the WWF Visa Classic, WWF Visa Gold and WWF Visa Gold Preferred. Under the plan, each time a customer uses one of the cards to make a purchase, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the WWF. The Visa Classic card features no annual fee, a free co-applicant card and a choice of photo on the card, either a panda or a polar bear. The Visa Gold card has no annual fee, a free co-applicant card, automatic worldwide collision/loss damage insurance, travel accident insurance and a minimum credit limit of $5,000. The Visa Gold Preferred card has the same benefits of the Gold card plus a Royal Reward Travel/Merchandise program valued at 1% of all purchases, gold section reserved seating at special events, 31 days out-of-country/out-of-province emergency medical insurance, trip cancellation/interruption insurance, commission-free travelers cheques and a minimum credit limit of $5,000. The cards will be promoted using direct mail to WWF members. It will be handled by DTD Virtual Solutions Group of Toronto.
