30-year McDonald's Canada veteran Ronald Marcoux plans to retire from his post at the end of the year. Marcoux has held the president and CEO position for Western Canada since 1992. He originally joined the fast food chain in 1968, shortly after the first McDonald's restaurant was opened in Canada. In 1973, he was appointed vice-president for Western Canada and in 1977 he was named executive vice-president.

Young & Rubicam of Toronto has appointed four new senior vice-presidents and group client directors. They are Barrett Book, Martin Kingston, Duncan Mackinnon and Norm Melamed. Most recently Book was senior vice-president and marketing director. Kingston was senior vice-president and account managing director. Mackinnon and Melamed were vice-presidents and group directors.
