LEVI MOVES BACK TO CHINA

After a five-year hiatus from the Chinese market, Levi Straus & Co. of San Francisco has announced it will market its clothing in the country once again. Levi's pulled out of the market in 1993 because of human rights concerns. Levi's expects its products will be marketed in 1999. When the company withdrew from the market, it was producing 2.8 million items a year from third-party contractors.
