CLUB MONACO OPENS NEW CONCEPT STORE

Clothing retailer Club Monaco Inc. of Toronto has moved into the home accessories market. The company opened its first outlet last week that sells items for the home, including glass and tableware, linens and bathroom and kitchen accessories. The store also carries clothing for men, women and children. The outlet is called Club Monaco Everyday. The move is part of Club Monaco's goal to market lifestyle goods that fit well with its demographic, which is youthful, energetic and style-driven individuals, executive vice-president and chief operating officer Sol Nayman told Adnews last week. The retailer will open another Club Monaco Everyday store in Mississauga, Ont. by the end of the month, and will expand the chain depending on its success. Advertising plans for Club Monaco will be "determined as the need arises." Club Monaco creates its advertising in-house.
