READER'S DIGEST OVERHAULS MAGAZINE

U.S.-based Reader's Digest Association has redesigned its Reader's Digest monthly magazine. The company has removed the familiar table of contents off of the cover and replaced it with photography and enhanced graphics. Inside the magazine, there will be a two-page table of contents with photos and article highlights. Articles will be categorized by themes such as health and fitness, current affairs, people, drama and adventure. The redesign will be first seen in the May issue and will take effect simultaneously in Reader's Digest magazines worldwide. The publication is available in 48 editions and 19 languages. For the first time, the May issue will feature the same cover in all of its editions, which is a photo of a San Francisco female firefighter. In Canada, Reader's Digest is available by subscription and on newsstands. It has a circulation of 1,475,000.
