PUBLICIS GOES ON VACATION WITH CLUB MED

Paris-based Publicis group has been handed the worldwide business for Club Med, a chain of vacation resorts throughout the world. The move means Publicis BCP of Montreal and Publicis SMW of Toronto will handle the Canadian portion of the business. Until now, Club Med's account was handled by various agencies in different countries. In Canada, Publicis SMW had the Club Med account, but the company did very little advertising here. Publicis won the business without a review. The firm approached Club Med with a campaign idea. The campaign will be launched around the world in the fall. It will be created by Publicis in Paris, while Publicis BCP and Publicis SMW will localize the ads for the Canadian market.
