URBAN OUTDOOR TRANS AD RESIGNS BUSINESS
By Adnews Staff
Urban Outdoor Trans Ad of Toronto has resigned from selling ad space for five Ontario transit advertising companies, effective March 1. The affected companies are: Street Level Media Inc. of Markham, Morin & Morin Transit Advertising of Brantford, Onboard Advertising of Barrie, Donro Advertising of Peterborough and Canadian Outdoor Graphx of Richmond Hill. Urban Outdoor corporate relations and marketing director Yvonne Gibson told Adnews yesterday the firm decided to resign from the business because "our clients require that we turn things around quickly and we weren't able to make those commitments on the other companies behalf." In addition, Urban Outdoor has been making some technological improvements, such as bar coding and inventory management, over the past year and the other companies weren't making the same investment. Urban Outdoor will continue to sell ad space in major markets in Southern Ontario, as well as in 48 other Canadian markets including Halifax, Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver to Ontario-based advertisers.
