DOUBLECLICK PUTS MORE SITES UNDER ITS BELT

Four more Web sites have joined DoubleClick Canada's network. They are: TSNSCOUT, romance.net., tfc-charts.w2d.com and positionwatch.com. TSNSCOUT is a joint venture between NetStar Interactive and Digital Wizards Inc. The two companies will launch the search engine later this month, which will be dedicated to sports. The site will offer a database of links to all sports information on the Internet with site descriptions and ratings. It will include professional and amateur sports. Romance.net is owned by Harlequin, a publisher of romance novels. It offers interactive activities, episodic novels published online, as well as coverage of romance information. Harlequin says 98% of the site's users are women. Tfc-charts.w2d.com is owned by TFC Commodity Charts. It is a source of information for investors in the commodity futures market. Content areas include daily financial charts, a forum, a glossary of trading terminology and a short course in commodity trading. Positionwatch provides a forum for employers to promote their career opportunities in the high tech industry. Other sites in the DoubleClick Canada network include AltaVista Canada, Atlantic Canada Online and TVOntario. Sean Miller has joined DoubleClick as account executive. Most recently he was video sales and marketing manager at Malo Films. Alison Twiner is now at DoubleClick, working in customer support. Formerly she was production editor at the University of Queensland Press in Australia.
