NETSTEPS CONTINUES ACQUISITION TRAIL

Interactive media development company, NetSteps Inc. of Toronto has bought The Wire, a Toronto-based company specializing in Web hosting and dial-in services. For NetSteps, the deal strengthens its range of hosting, access, development and information technology consulting services. For The Wire, the agreement gives the company the ability to offer a larger range of services. NetSteps is a full-service interactive media development company offering creative and technical services. Under the deal, The Wire will retain its name and will operate as a subsidiary of NetSteps. Advertising for NetSteps is handled in-house with the help of Benchmark Communications of Toronto. Advertising for The Wire will now be handled in the same way. Previously, The Wire handled its advertising in-house. Early last year, Netsteps bought two Toronto information technology consulting firms: Infologic Inc. and Datafirm Inc.
