COMPANY OFFERS THE RETURN OF HOUSECALLS

HomeDOC Healthcare Inc. of Markham, Ont. will launch its doctors housecall service in the greater Toronto area early next year. The service is for patients in need of non-emergency medical attention in their homes. They can call a toll-free number where they will be asked to leave their name, telephone number, address and chief medical complaint. After screening the call, a doctor is paged the information on the patient, and in most cases, will be at the patient's home within a few hours. The service will be promoted using direct mail created in-house. HomeDOC has been operating in two areas of Toronto, in Etobicoke and Downsview, since mid-November. HomeDOC president Barry Sambrook told Adnews that the service is especially good for seniors and mothers of young children who don't have cars. Until a year ago, Sambrook was co-owner of Street Level Media of Markham, Ont., which sells ads on transit, benches and in arenas.
