BURGER KING RE-LAUNCHES FRIES
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based Burger King has revamped its french fries in North America. The company says the fries are crispier and seal in heat so they stay hotter longer. They are cooked in 100% vegetable oil and do not contain common allergens such as whey and gluten. They came on the market this week. In Canada, Burger King will launch a radio, TV and PR campaign for the fries on Dec. 15. The radio ads feature The French Friars performing the musical theme. The French Friars are related to Burger King's Monks, who craved Whopper hamburgers. The French Friars break 40 years of silence to tout the new fries. The TV ads will feature Mr. Potato Head and his manager. In addition, Burger King will hold special events in Canada to promote the fries. On Jan. 2, the fast-food chain will host "Free Fryday." Anyone who walks in or drives through any Burger King in Canada will receive a free small order of the new fries. A national poll will be taken on the taste of the new fries and coupons will be distributed so that consumers can try the fry. The events, radio ads and PR will be done by Hennessey & Bray Communications of Toronto. Ammirati & Puris/Lintas of New York created the TV ads in conjunction with Hennessey & Bray.
