WIC UNVEILS COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK WIC
By Adnews Staff
Connexus launched a new communications network last week that will allow users to receive cable, telephone and Internet services with a tiny, flat antenna and a digital decoder box. Called local multipoint communication systems (LMCS), the new technology is currently available in Toronto and will roll out to 33 major national markets. WIC says that companies using the network will be able to offer high-speed Internet access, two-way data transmission, videoconferencing, telephone traffic, digital television and a bevy of interactive services. WIC Connexus is a subsidiary of Vancouver-based WIC Western International Communications.
