GOODYEAR FLIES WITH PRIVATE LEARJET PROMOTION

Toronto-based Goodyear Canada says it will launch its biggest ever promotion later this month. The campaign will promote a contest in which the winner will get the use of a private Learjet for one month to fly anywhere in North America, as well as 15 nights at any ITT Sheraton Hotel in North America and $5,000. The contest will be promoted using radio and print advertising, as well as direct mail flyers and point-of-purchase materials. In addition, Goodyear launched a national TV campaign this week to tout the safety, traction and durability of its tires. The theme line of the ads is "Serious Freedom." Both campaigns were created by Due North Communications of Toronto, while Martel et Compaqnie of Montreal did the French ads. Goodyear Canada's tires include the Infinitred, the Aquatred and the Wrangler.
