YMCA Toronto breaks Obstacles campaign

The YMCA of Greater Toronto has begun a new advertising campaign called “Obstacles.” Acccording to the organization, the campaign is intended to highlight the ways in which “everyone can ignite their true potential when given the right support.” Developed by Outpost379 of Peterborough, ON, this is the charity’s second annual “Shine On” brand awareness campaign. The campaign featues a 90-second television commercial depicting the benefits of YMCA programs and services. It will run through the year, accompanied by digital ads, social media content, billboards, transit posters, and radio ads.

“With this campaign, we wanted to bring to life the emotional obstacles the pandemic has brought on for so many for us, while showing how you can turn all those off, with the help of the Y, to allow your potential to shine,” said Ben Steele, creative director of Outpost379. “I hope when people see this campaign on their screens, they relate to these very real emotions and experiences and are inspired to overcome whatever is holding them back.”
