Canadaland signs podcast deal with Acast

Toronto-based podcasting company Canadaland has signed an advertising and distribution agreement with Acast. According to the company, the agreement is intended to attract a larger international audience and to improve its sponsorship capabilities. Canadaland’s podcasts attract approximately 8 million listeners per year, according to the company.

“As Canadaland approaches its second decade, our ambition, like our audience, has grown significantly,” said Jesse Brown, publisher and editor-in-chief of Canadaland. “We look forward to working with the Acast team to help us build new audiences in Canada and beyond, and to seize new opportunities to work with just the right advertisers. This partnership will allow our podcasters and journalists to expand on their important work to date, and continue to bring audiences engaging stories that aren't getting told elsewhere.”
