Elimin8Hate releases Asian name dictionary

Elimin8Hate, the advocacy division of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival, has begun a campaign intended to counter anti-Asian discrimination. The initiative takes the form of a custom dictionary of Asian names for use with word processing software Microsift Word. The intent is to prevent these named from being marked as spelling errors when typed. The dictionary includes approximately 8,000 unique names from various Asian countries. The organization is also encouraging consumers to submit their own names for inclusion in future versions. It can be downloaded for free at <http://www.namereclaim.ca>. The campaign also includes out-of-home advertising.
