CycurID releases privacy app

CycurID Technologies of Vancouver has released a new mobile application called Imme that provides digital identity management and privacy services. According to the company, the application allows consumers to withhold their personal data from third parties when accessing online services. According to the company, the system uses technology such as “liveness detection” and facial recognition to verify a user’s identity without storing their information on third-party servers. Users can then access online accounts by scanning a QR code using the app. The service is intended to mitigate the risk of security breaches, data leaks and identity theft.

“For far too long, we've simply accepted that giving away our personal information, and assuming the risk of identity theft, is our only option when transacting online,” said Gord Jessop, co-founder of the company. “That's not acceptable, and it's no longer true. Imme represents a revolutionary new way to manage personal information and identity in a reusable manner.”
