New online pet supply service debuts

Hill’s Pet Nutrition, a pet food company based in Burlington, ON, has signed a promotional agreement with online pet supply retailer MyVetStore.ca and online veterinary information provider Smart.Vet. The intent is to provide an enhanced virtual care experience for pet owners. The service allows veterinary clinics to have selected items from MyVetStore to appear in the clinic’s online consultation room. A veterinary professional can recommend specific nutrition, medication and other pet-related items during online consultations with pet owners. The consumer can then purchase the product and have it shipped to them or their vet.

“We are proud to partner with MyVetStore and Smart.Vet on this initiative,” said Jenn Porter, general manager of Hill’s Pet Nutrition Canada. “With more veterinarians and patients turning to telemedicine during COVID, we wanted to remove barriers in making recommendations for the profession so that we can achieve our mission of enriching and lengthening the special relationship between people and their pets through science based nutrition.”
