U.S.-based NEC Corp. has introduced two value-priced lines of notebook computers to the North American market called the 2500 and the 2600. The first machine in the 2500 series is called the 2530. It features a 133 megahertz Pentium processor, 8X CD-ROM, full multimedia capabilities, interchangeable components and upgradeablility. The 2530 is aimed at independent business professionals, small-to-medium sized businesses and corporate users who need mobility and have average computing needs. The 2600 is an all-in-one computing solution. Customers can choose which processor fits their needs: the Intel 133 megahertz processor, the 150 megahertz processor or a processor using Intel's MMX technology. In Canada, advertising for NEC is done in-house with the help of The Cohen Group of Toronto. Sometimes creative comes from the company's U.S. agency, Houston Effler of Boston. Canadian PR is done by Continental Communications of Toronto.
