Quebecor begins Culture d'ici initiative

Quebecor of Montreal has begun a new initiative called “Culture d’ici” intended to promote cultural works created in Quebec and to support the companies that produce them. The promotion is intended to highlight Quebec talent and promote local buying local over a period of several months as the COVID-19 pandemic recedes.

The effort will include a new show on TVA called Ça va bien aller, intended to alleviate the sense of isolation during the pandemic. In addition, a “Culture d'ici” feature will be added to the company’s video-on-demand services, including Club illico and Helix, which will aggregate Quebec-made content available on the various services. Other elements will feature Quebec comics, authors and local businesses, including advertising.

“Quebecor has always been committed to supporting and promoting Quebec culture,” said Pierre Karl Péladeau, president and CEO of Quebecor. “Today, Quebecor is continuing its efforts by launching a string of initiatives to give Quebec content and Quebec artists maximum exposure on all its platforms. Since the beginning of the crisis, Quebecor has taken a number of steps to help Quebecers cope with the unprecedented circumstances. At this time, we need to be more creative than ever and find new ways to encourage Quebecers to experience all the inventiveness, diversity and richness of our culture.”
