CNESST readies back-to-work safety campaign

The Quebec Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail, a provincial organization that provides information about labour standards and related matters, is preparing a new campaign in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign will focus on the occupational health and safety aspects of residents returning to work at the end eventual end of the self-isolation period. The effort will use the theme “Getting Quebecers back to work safely” and encourage workers to follow any safety directives issued by public health authorities. The campaign will run from April 20 to May 17 and will include radio advertising and social media content, accompanied by television commercials in late April.

“The Government of Quebec has taken the necessary measures to contain the spread of COVID-19,” said Jean Boulet, Quebec Minister of Labour, Employment and Solidarity. “Following health recommendations and worker health and safety are a priority and together we will succeed in gradually getting thousands of Quebecers back to work. We must continue our efforts and do what is necessary to create winning conditions and prevent the spread of the virus in the workplace. In every workplace, big or small, we have to stay vigilant, for the sake of everyone's health.”
