LONG TIME AD MAN PASSES AWAY

Fifty-year advertising verteran Marc Girard passed away this week of a heart attack. He was 71. Girard is perhaps best known for his work with Les Affaires magazine. He began his career in 1940 at the Montreal Daily Star when he was 17-years-old. He also worked at Maclean Hunter Publishing, and began his own company in 1976 called M.A. Girard Ltd. Girard retired in 1990. Visitations are being held today between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Aurora, Ont. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m.
