PUROLATOR MAY HAVE TO LOOK AGAIN

Purolator Courier of Mississauga, Ont. may be going back to the drawing board in its search for an agency for the creative portion of its account, marketing manager Deborah Gray told Adnews yesterday. The courier company was down to a short list of three who were asked to create a presentation. Gray said that after seeing the presentations, Purolator felt there was "a gap in what the business is about." So she went back to the mid-list and talked to an agency that the company liked, but felt there was "road block." The agency has been asked to address the "road block" and come back with a presentation in three weeks. If all goes well, the agency will be hired. If not, Purolator will start the review over again. The company put its account in review last October. It was using Bensimon*Byrne of Toronto on a project basis since last January. Before that, both the creative and the media buying was done by Lowe/SMS of Toronto. Harrison, Young, Pesonen & Newell of Toronto does media buying for Purolator.
