TVA Group to buy Serdy Media

TVA Group of Montreal has agreed to acquire Serdy Média and the Serdy Vidéo group of companies. According to TVA, the purchase is intended to diversity its in Quebec content through the addition of the Évasion and Zeste specialty television channels. Évasion focuses on travel, tourism, adventure and food programming, while Zeste focuses on cooking and lifestyle content. The deal is worth $24 million. TVA Group is a subsidiary of Quebecor Media.
"These acquisitions are part of TVA Group's broader content diversification strategy," said France Lauzière, president and CEO of TVA Group. "We're confident that by joining our group both channels will reach larger audiences on all platforms and will benefit from additional resources that will help them grow their reach."
