Quebec newspapers form join representation agreement

Montreal-based Le Devoir and Groupe Capitales Médias of Quebec City have formed an agreement to unify the advertising sales representation of their print publications. The intention is to simplify the process of reaching the French-language audience of these newspapers, which comprises approximately 1.4 million unique readers per week.

The agreement covers seven papers: Le Devoir of Montreal, Le Soleil of Quebec City, Le Nouvelliste of Trois-Rivières, La Tribune of Sherbrooke, Le Droit of Ottawa-Gatineau, Le Quotidien of Saguenay/Lac Saint-Jean, and La Voix de l'Est of Granby.

"This partnership will allow Le Devoir to shine in the national media landscape," said Mark Drouin, vice-president of sales at Le Devoir. "This type of alliance is important, but with the right partner. Groupe Capitales Médias and Le Devoir are well-respected and established Quebec brands, and together we look forward to offering our clients a significant broader buy into the Quebec marketplace."
