CANADA TRUST TAKES BANKING OVER THE INTERNET
By Adnews Staff
Canada Trust introduced its Internet banking service this week. Called EasyWeb, the service lets customers review their portfolios including loans, mortgages and investments. They can access their bank accounts from home or business to perform routine banking transactions, and can track their chequing and saving account histories back to the beginning of the previous month. The information is encrypted to protect customer privacy. Radio and Internet advertising created by Cormark Communications of London, Ont. supports the launch of the service. Print may be used in the future. EasyWeb is different from the bank's PC banking service because it uses the Internet rather than a private computer network. With the PC banking service, the software and data sits on the customer's terminal
