Dazn readies Canadian launch

A new online streaming video service called Dazn is preparing to launch in Canada. The service will offer live and on-demand video of National Football League games, including the playoffs and the Super Bowl championship game. According to the company, the service will launch in time for the league's pre-season games. The service will also offer high-definition sports content from other leagues and international competitions.  This content can be viewed on smart television sets, tablets, smartphones or video game consoles. It will offer monthly and annual subscriptions. Dazn is owned by Perform Group of London, UK. It launched in Europe in 2016 and currently operates in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Japan.

"We know that Canada is home to many NFL fans and we're excited to transform the way they experience the NFL and other live sports," said James Rushton, CEO of Dazn. "After successfully launching in four countries around the world, we are thrilled to bring Dazn to Canada where fans are so passionate and sport is a way of life. Dazn is designed to put fans first, so we're confident fans will enjoy our product and proposition."
