Urban Barn resumes Blanket the Country campaign

Toronto-based furniture retailer Urban Barn has begun a campaign called "Blanket the Country in Warmth" for a fifth year. Until Nov. 20, the chain will donate a fleece blanket to a local shelter for each in-store purchase or online donation. Consumers can also submit a personal message via a website at <http://www.blanketthecountry.com>. These messages will be collected in booklets and delivered to participating shelters with the blankets in time for the holiday season. This year, the company has extended this initiative into Quebec for the first time.

"Expanding the program to include personalized messages was important to us as 'Blanket the Country in Warmth' kicks off its fifth year," said Linda Letts, president of Urban Barn. "We've been extremely grateful for the tremendous support from our local communities, surpassing our goal of 13,000 blankets last year, and wanted to continue to challenge ourselves to have meaningful impact. We wanted to create a direct connection between those donating blankets and those receiving them."
