Pixhug releases charitable fundraising application

Vancouver-based Pixhug Media has released a mobile application called Pixhug that is intended to help charities raise funds for their causes. Consumers can use the application to post photographs to Facebook or to <>. For each "like" received by an image posted via the app, a participating humanitarian campaign will receive a donation of ten cents from a participating corporate sponsor.

"Our mission is to make it easy for everyone to do good, and turn social media into a socially responsible place that makes every social networker a philanthropist contributing to global good," said company co-founder Mia Rajkovic.
