MCDONALD'S GOES BEEF-FREE

Consumers in India won't be suffering from Big Mac attacks even though U.S.-based McDonald's Corp. will open its first restaurant in that country next week. The fast-food chain's menu will feature chicken and vegetarian items only because India's Hindu population considers the cow sacred. The restaurant will be located in India's capital, New Delhi. Advertising for the restaurant will be done by DDB Needham affiliate Mudra Communications of New Delhi. Other fast-food restaurants that have entered New Delhi over the past five years include Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
