Non-profit legal groups ready Flip Your Wig promotion

A group of seven non-profit organizations will conduct a promotion called "Flip Your Wig for Justice" next month. The campaign is intended to raise awareness of and funds for non-profits that provide legal support in Ontario. On March 6, participants will wear either traditional judicial or comedic wigs. Until that day, members of the justice system and others can register online at <http://www.flipyourwigforjustice.ca>. Visitors to the site can also make donations. The effort is being supported with social media activities conducted via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
"The access to justice crisis in Canada needs to be addressed within the halls of courtrooms, classrooms, boardrooms and around the dinner table," said Thomas Conway of the Law Society of Upper Canada. "Flip Your Wig for Justice is a great way to raise awareness of the urgent need to improve access to justice for all Canadians."
The seven participating organizations are the Association in the Defense of the Wrongly Convicted, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association Education Trust, Community Legal Education Ontario, the Metropolitan Action Committee on Violence Against Women and Children, the Ontario Justice Education Network, Pro Bono Law Ontario and Pro Bono Students Canada.
