Irving Tissue begins Save the Tiger sponsorship

Irving Tissue of Dieppe, NB has begun a sponsorship program in the name of its Royale line of tissue and paper towel products. The brand is now a sponsor of Panthera, an international charitable organization that works to conserve endangered wild cats. The sponsorship includes a $40,000 donation to the Save the Tiger Fund, as well as ongoing participation in awareness and fundraising activities through 2014. This will consist of online and social media support, point-of-sale materials and community events. According to the organization, only 3,200 tigers remain in the wild today.

"We are extremely proud to announce our new partnership with Panthera through Save the Tiger Fund, which lets us directly contribute to the preservation of tigers and their habitats worldwide," said Gary MacIntosh, director of marketing at Royale Canada. "During our research as we developed the Tiger Towel concept, we were shocked to learn that tigers are now an endangered species. Given the majestic beauty of our new brand ambassador, we felt a responsibility to ensure future generations will grow up in a world with tigers. We hope this partnership helps raise awareness and interest for tiger conservation among Canadians."
