CHIAT/DAY TORONTO OPENS "VIRTUAL OFFICE"
By Adnews Staff
Starting later this week, TBWA Chiat/Day of Toronto will begin occupying its revolutionary new virtual office. Following the examples set by the agency's Venice Beach, Calif. and New York offices, the new surroundings feature all kinds of non-traditional aspects. There will be no corner offices for those with the loftiest titles, but there will be a number of workstations where people can pull up a chair and plug their laptop into a user-ready terminal. In many cases, cellular phones will replace stationary desk phones. There will also be numerous "war rooms" where creative staff and strategists will do the bulk of their work for clients. Each war room will be dedicated to one client, with their walls to be covered with insights and ideas in their raw first stages. There will also be a "Club House" area that offers free continental breakfasts for employees and clients, as well as television monitors that replay award-winning ads of the agency's past.
