VOYAGEUR INSURANCE CUTS SENIOR TRAVEL RATES
By Adnews Staff
Montreal-based Voyageur Insurance Company revamped its program of seniors' travel insurance this week. The TravelCare emergency medical insurance program will now offer reduced rates for those over the age of 60 who are in good health. Unlimited coverage is provided for up to 183 days of travel outside Canada. A healthy 64-year-old, for instance, travelling 180 days would pay $457, down from about $1,000 a year ago. The program has been available since July 1. Advertising began earlier this month using using trade magazines as well as consumer magazines aimed at seniors. Creative work is handled by Energy, Minds and Resources of Mississauga, Ont. National media buying is done by Voyageur, while the ads in local papers are bought by Voyageur and travel agencies in each area.
