Mississauga-based Samsung Mobile has signed-on as a sponsor of the Halifax 2011 Canada Games. As part of the agreement, Samsung will supply wireless phones to the volunteers coordinating the event. "With over 5,000 volunteers serving 2,800 athletes and approximately 10,000 visitors, Samsung's sponsorship plays an integral role in the flow of the games," said John Rogers, the event's marketing and sponsorship division chair. "Without the support of sponsors like Samsung, the games would not be possible." The games will take place from Feb. 11 to 27.
