Twentyten Group opens in Vancouver

A new marketing, sports and entertainment company called the Twentyten Group has opened in Vancouver, founded by a group of former Vancouver 2010 Olympics marketers. The firm is headed by managing partner Andrea Shaw, previously vice-president of sponsorship sales and marketing for the 2010 games. Bill Cooper, the former director of commercial rights management, and Sandra Hamilton, the business manager of John Furlong, are also among the founding staff, along with former VANOC staff Breedon Grauer, Rob Mullowney and Catherine Locke, supported by Kala Polman-Tuin and Stephanie Cornish. Bart Given, former assistant general manager of the Toronto Blue Jays, and Mags Doehler, who has previously worked for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the Canadian Olympic Committee and VANOC, will work out of Toronto. "The Twentyten Group is a cherry-picked team of exceptional people," said Shaw. "I am extremely excited about our team and our ultimate goal to take the best practices from VANOC in an effort to elevate industry standards both in Canada and around the globe. Our innovative approach along with core values of trust, integrity and service excellence bode well for an incredibly exciting future." Clients include The Canadian Olympic Committee, John Furlong, The City of Vancouver and the University of Victoria.
