Canadian Marketing Association forms mobile marketing group

The Canadian Marketing Association has formed an industry task force intended to determine how marketers can best integrate mobile marketing into their overall marketing activities. The group will develop a new tool designed to allow marketers to assess whether a specific mobile marketing channel would be a good fit for their product. The task force will also develop a list of best practices for mobile marketing that will be incorporated into the association's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. "Mobile marketing holds great promise for business," said association president and CEO John Gustavson. "Through these efforts in collaboration with other stakeholder groups, such as the Mobile Marketing Association and Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association, CMA is working to support the growth of mobile marketing in Canada." The group is chaired by Phil Barrett of BStreet Communications. Additional members include Deborah Hall of Web2Mobile, Helen Leach-Edwards of American Express, Bob Millar of Inbox Marketer, Brady Murphy of Vortex Mobile, Sandra Singer-Tabachneck of the CMA and Steve Sorge of Mobile Fringe.
