Farmers Feed Cities campaign re-launches

Farmers Feed Cities has re-launched a marketing campaign in Ontario intended to raise awareness of the benefits of buying locally-grown food, particularly among city residents. The initiative focuses primarily on the importance of farming to the Ontario economy and the environmental benefits. The campaign makes use of out-of-home advertising, along with a redesigned website, social media activities and various collateral materials. "The urban and rural partnership is vital to the success of the Farmers Feed Cities campaign, and the online space is a great place to start the conversation," said campaign coordinator Jenny Van Rooy. "A strong farming industry is crucial in maintaining a strong province. We hope this increased accessibility to information on our farming industry will engage Ontarians to support their second largest industry, farming." Farmers Feed Cities is an initiative of Ontario Grains & Oilseeds, which is a coalition of the Grain Farmers of Ontario, the Ontario Bean Producers' Marketing Board, the Ontario Canola Growers' Association, the Ontario Coloured Bean Growers' Association and Seed Corn Growers of Ontario.
