Mars Hill Group and BCG Communications merge

Mars Hill Group and BCG Communications, both based in Winnipeg, have merged their operations. The name of the new company will not be announced until the summer. The joint firm will offer services including digital, interactive, brand strategy and brand development. Robert Bulman, president of BCG, will be president of the new agency, while Mars Hill president David Baker will be its CEO. The combined firm will have a staff of 27. "We have seen the landscape of marketing changing for some time now," said Bulman. "With the increased importance of new and social media working with media such as print, television and radio, agencies need to be prepared to offer clients fully integrated services. It is a time of change in our industry, and this merger allows us to stay ahead of the curve. We have discussed the merger with most of our clients and the response has been very enthusiastic. Everyone seems to be excited about the potential the two companies will bring." No financial details are available.
