WESTERNERS LOVE COFFEE

Albertans are the biggest coffee drinkers in Canada, according to a study by ACNielsen of Markham, Ont. Over the first five months of the year, people in Alberta consumed 3.5 pounds of coffee per person, while Maritimers came in with the least coffee consumption, consuming 1.6 pounds per person. People in Manitoba and Saskatchewan came in second, consuming 3.4 pounds of coffee per person, followed by B.C, where people consumed 2.8 pounds each. In Ontario, people consumed 2.2 pounds of coffee, while people in Quebec consumed 2 pounds. The national average is 2.4 pounds.
