NEW INSURANCE FOR SICK
By Adnews Staff
Seaboard Life Insurance Company of Vancouver launched its Medical Crisis Recovery Plan last week to help people deal with medical crises. Under the plan, consumers will receive a tax-free lump sum of up to $500,000 upon diagnosis of a covered condition if the insured survives the required waiting period. There are two plans. The Basic Plan covers heart attacks, strokes and cancer. The Comprehensive Plan covers those three conditions, as well as kidney failure, coronary artery bypass, three forms of paralysis, dismemberment, blindness and deafness. The plan is sold through individual insurance brokers throughout Canada. Seaboard will decide within four weeks if it will launch consumer advertising for the plan. It mainly promotes its products in trade publications. Advertising for Seaboard is done in-house with the help of freelancers.
