ST. CLAIR TO MARKET TEFLON-BASED PAINTS AND STAINS
By Adnews Staff
St. Clair Paint & Wallpaper Corp. will introduce new paints and stains in the fall that contain Teflon, which is made by U.S.-based E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company. The Teflon will make the products more water and oil resistant, as well as more durable. There will be a kitchen and bath paint that will have no smell and will be resistant to oil and water type stains. A clear sealer will be introduced that can be used on surfaces such as concrete, interlocking stone and wood. The sealer will protect the surface from water and oil damage. There will also be a new paint for children's rooms which will be more durable, handling things such as a child's art work. In addition, St. Clair will introduce Teflon into its premium line of indoor and outdoor paints by November. The lines are: Designers Touch, The Outsider, Luxury Velvet and Weather Supreme. Next spring, the retail chain will launch Stainmaster, which will also contain Teflon. Advertising will support the launch of the products. Although final plans are yet to be finalized, the campaign will definitely include print. Advertising for St. Clair is done by Bates O'Rourke of Toronto. St. Clair operates wallpaper and paint stores across Canada under the Color Your World and St. Clair banners.
